Some donors wish to give money to a particular project in Nepal, what we refer to as a targeted donation. ANMF is happy to accept these donations with certain limitations.

If the project the donor has in mind is already an approved project and not fully funded, we will gratefully accept the donation.

If the project the donor has in mind is already fully funded, we cannot accept the donation without first consulting with ANMF/Nepal to see whether they would approve expanding the project. This policy is intended to protect the donor to make sure that the funds go where they are targeted.

If the project is not currently an approved ANMF project we must first submit a project proposal to ANMF/Nepal. There are two reasons for this. First, we believe very strongly that the medical community in Nepal is best able to assess the needs in that country. We are very careful not to impose unwanted projects upon them. Second, ANMF's experts in Nepal will be able to evaluate not just the project, but also the organization that will undertake the project, to assure that the project will be carried out effectively. The project will be treated as a time-critical project and will be subject to the standard review and acceptance process.
