We Need Your Help!

This is a training project for advanced life support that will hopefully be the basis of a sustainable certification program. The goal is to achieve the transfer of a viable cardiovascular program to physicians in Nepal and to provide continued support for this program.

Through the kindness, initiative and connections of Barbara Aehlert, SouthWest Ambulance will be generously donating 2 AEDs (Automatic Electronic Defibrillators) to Patan Hospital and the Cardiovascular Program. We could use 6 more AEDs. Some places may be upgrading to newer ones and the older ones would be fine for us.

Who is going:

  • Brendan Thomson MD, MBA Regional Medical Director. Inspiris
  • Dave Farrow ACLS faculty member
  • Mary Alice Wetzel ACLS faculty member
  • Chris Turner MD Anaesthesiologist from U of Michigan
  • Sunil Sharma MD ER doctor in the US from Nepal

Who is supporting us in the US

  • Gordon Ewy MD "father" of the cerebral perfusion concept
  • Barbara Aehlert RN author of the ACLS program book and EKG book
  • Don Copley MD cardiologist who has written a slide teaching program to assist us
  • South West Ambulance who donated 2 AEDs
  • Senator Jon Kyl's office who notified the Embassy that we would be in Nepal

We intend to make a DVD so that we could use it to raise funds or donations for Automatic Electronic Defibrillators in the future.
