Subject: Re: Medical laboratory project in Rasuwa

Dear Jeanne,

Greetings from Kathmandu. I hope all is well with you. Everything is well at this end.

As communicated to you earlier, the establishment of a Medical Laboratory in KFK Clinic in Rasuwa has been complited. However, we are unable to inaugurate and launch a lab services due to the unexpected resignation of our lab assistant, Radha Thapa. She left our organizartion despite the fact that we invested in her all educations, including the lab assistant training, for the last seven years. We even had arranged the on-the-job training to her at the Kathmandu Model Hospital in Kathmandu, with the help of Dr Soraj Dhital of the Nepal-Amarica Medical Foundation.

In order to metrerilize our plan, we have started a process for recrutement of a new Lab assistant. Once the recrurtment process is over, hopefully within this April 2008, we will go ahead to inaugurate and launch the much awaited laboratory services.

Mr, Scott Mclennon, Executive Director of The Mountain Fund, visited the clinic recently and inspected a newly set-up laboratory on our behalf.

Attached please find some of the images that Mr Mclennon has taken during his visited.

Thank you very much for your support and undrestandng.

Pragati Ghale
