Dear Nawang,

The report on my Fellowship training in National University Hospital from the date 18 March 2008 till 6 March 2009.

I have been allowed hands on training and excellent teaching and guidance by my EP consultants of National University Hospital (NUH)

Till date I was actively involved in the followings:

A) Procedures:

  • Pacemaker implantations (dual and single chamber) = 130
  • Automated Internal Cardioverter Defibrillator implantations = 30
  • Bi ventricular pacemaker implantation =3D 30 (I was involved in two workshops in Bi ventricular pacing held in NUH Singpapore - March 2008 and November=
    2008) = 20
  • Cardiac electrophysiological study and Radiofrequency ablations = 220 which included EP Study, VT study, RF ablations of supraventricular and ventricular arrhythmias, ablation of atrial flutter, use of CARTO (advanced mapping system) in pulmonary vein isolation in atrial fibrillation focal atrial tachycardia ablation RVOT VT ablation and Fascicular VT ablations etc.
  • Guided and taught registrars of NUH in temporary pacing.
  • Guided and taught medical officers C Residents registrars and Nurses in the field of basic electrophysiology.
  • Presented a "case presentation" in the first Asia Pacific Heart Rhythm Society Conference held in Singapore in Nov 20 - 22 - 2008.
  • Actively involved in preparation of questinaire data collection, data entry and writing up with Dr. Abdul Razak (my course director) in a Research paper in Micro T Wave Alternans. Initiated original article on "Long QT Syndrome in Singapore"
  • Have pesented 12 different topic in the field of Electrophysiology in the CME program held regulary in NUH.
  • Attended various conferences (in the field of cardiology and Electrophysiology) held in Singapore.
