Dear Dr. Gauri,
I am giving you the report on my Fellowship training in
National University Hospital from the date 18 March 2008 till date
(my fellowship will end on March 2009).
I have been allowed hands on training and excellent teaching
and guidance by my EP consultants of National University Hospital
(NUH)
Till date I was actively involved in the followings:
A) Procedures:
- Pacemaker implantations (dual and single chamber) = 105
- Automated Internal Cardioverter Defibrillator implantations
= 27
- Bi ventricular pacemaker implantation = 27 (I was involved
in two workshop in Bi ventricular pacing held in NUH Singpapore
- March 2008 and November 2008)
- Cardiac electrophysiological study and Radiofrequency
ablations = 181 which included EP Study, VT study, RF ablations
of supraventricular and ventricular arrhythmias, ablation of
atrial flutter, use of CARTO (advanced mapping system) in
pulmonary vein isolation in atrial fibrillation, focal atrial
tachycardia ablation, RVOT VT ablation and Fascicular VT
ablations etc.
- Guided and taught registrars of NUH in temporary pacing.
- Guided and taught medical officers, Residents, registrars
and Nurses in the field of basic electrophysiology.
- Presented a "case presentation" in the first Asia Pacific
Heart Rhythm Society Conference held in Singapore in Nov 20 -
22, 2008.
- Actively involved in preparation of questinaire, data
collection, data entry and writing up with Dr. Abdul Razak (my
course director) in a Research paper in Micro T Wave Alternans.
- Have pesented 12 different topic in the field of
Electrophysiology in the CME program held regulary in NUH.
- Attended various conferences (in the field of cardiology and
Electrophysiology) held in Singapore.
That is all about my achievements here. I hope with my training
I can improve and consolidate Electrophysiology development in
Shahid Gangalal National Heart Centre when I go back.
With Warm Regards
