Integrated Rural Development Society (IRDS Samaj) initiated a health clinic in Bardibas village of Mahottari district in 2001 with the support of World Neighbors, and recently updated the clinic into a 15 bed general hospital. The people of Bardibas, and its surrounding 6 villages are directly benefiting from the clinical facilities. The growing demand from public to expand clinical services has encouraged IRDS to approach ANMF for medical laboratory and equipments support within its clinic. This basic laboratory will allow staff to conduct testing for blood, urine, stool as well as X-ray analysis in order to more accurately diagnose and treat a number of common ailments.

IRDS with the support from World Neighbors initiated a clinic in Bardibas in 2001. The growing demand from the local as well as the neighboring villages to upgrade the clinical facilities encouraged us to make it a community hospital. IRDS has been able to work on this direction and has been successful in building its own hospital building of 4000 sq. feet area and has initiated the hospital related process.

The hospital in the village also need to find a sustainable source of financial resources as well. Donations are uncertain in terms of long run. So, IRDS has initiated a saving credit cooperative keeping in mind that the cooperative could be a strong tool for resources to run the hospital. That is why the hospital is joint undertaking of the cooperative and IRDS (Samaj). And thus the hospital is named Samaj Sahakari Hospital (Samaj Cooperative Hospital).

The hospital has not received any external fund for its operation except a minimum from World Neighbors. Thus, your support to this project would be instrumental in delivering the quality health services with increased lab equipment available.
