Outline of Future and Goals of KUMS:
- KUMS was founded to fill the need for a contemporary medical school using
proven, modern educational methods to train Nepali doctors who will go out into
the villages to serve the people.
- KUMS is dedicated to developing basic science teachers whose training enables
them to teach medical students using Problem Based Learning, Internet research
resources, and other contemporary educational modalities.
- KUMS is determined to achieve its goals of a medical campus, including a
University Hospital. To this end, beautiful parcels of land close to the KU
campus have been procured.
- KUMS is developing a world-wide network of dedicated teachers and friends to
support their ambitious goals, and has proven itself able to incorporate diverse
inputs into an effective curriculum.
- KUMS exemplifies good stewardship of limited resources, operating on a policy
of openness and candor.
- KUMS, like its parent institution KU, is committed to producing the finest
graduates in the country.
