ANMF’S Chicago Convention

• ANMF started its year with annual meeting in Chicago, June 12-13, 1999
• over 50 participants from North America and Nepal
• provides forum for

  • sharing experiences
  • building partnership

CME 1999

• “Update on Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine”
• ANMF, ACCP and SIMON’s joint venture
• Details to be presented by Roshan Shrestha, MD, CME Coordinator

ANMF Membership Drive

• Great addition to ANMF Executive: Julia Shepardson
• Database of over 250 ANMF members and friends
• About 10-15% of mailing and 20% of email addresses needed updating

Medical Resources to Nepal

• establish a regular shipping
• outside funding sources
• if new journals not available - collect from individuals
• books / journals with donor’s identity
• establish computer terminals
• TUTH or other library?

Individual Member’s Works

• support for students in Nepal - Richard Katzman, MD
• Kathmandu University Medical School project curriculum help
• helped to facilitate the visit of nursing staffs from Nepal who are here for ICU training

ANMF beyond 2000

• start to seek for funding for different projects- shipping
• electronic media
• CME
• website publishing plus mailing / emailing information to all members at a regular basis
• participation in public health activities?
• more active involvement in training?
