Project Description

This is a training project for advanced life support that will hopefully be the basis of a sustainable certification program.

Goal:

Transfer of a viable Cardiovascular Program to physicians. Going forward to provide continued support for this program.

Team:

  • Brendan Thomson MD
  • Mary Alice Wetzel ACLS trainer
  • Dave Farrow BS ACLS Instructor, Certified paramedic responder, Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice
  • Mike Epstein MD for neuro
  • Hopefully Don Copley MD for cardiology
  • Hopefully Chris Turner for airway
  • Buddha Basnyat MD for intro lecture on the CV data from Nepal based on the work of Cliff Tobin of Harvard
  • Support: Dr Gordon Ewy, leading US specialist on US CPR
  • Barbara Aehlert, leading teacher in American ACLS

We can do it with possibly 2 or 3, but as stated above, there is more critical brain power and skills.

How ANMF can help? Looking at a teaching bag for each teacher. Need to decide what goes into it. Should not be a big expense. Will try to get donated or purchased at reduced price automatic defibrillators. Will need help.

We could use 6 more AEDs ( Automatic Electronic Defibrillators). Some places may be upgrading to newer ones and the older ones would be fine for us.
