Funded Project - Normal Project
During the research on epidemiology of snakebite based on field survey (Pandey 2007) and based on hospital survey (Pandey 2006) in Chitwan and Nawalparasi districts under the financial support of University Grant Commission, Sanothimi, Bhaktapur, Nepal; two days Awareness Training Workshop on Snake and First-aid to Snakebite for Intermediate college (11 colleges) students under the financial support of Government of South Australia and Living with Wildlife on 29 and 30 September 2007, and 15 days Snake and First aid to Snakebite Awareness Training to farmers in 23 - 31 Oct. and 19 - 24 Nov. 2007 under the support of ANMF, Nepal we have encountered with too many superstitious, traditional, mysterious concepts on snakes, first aid to snakebite and its management deeply rooted among illiterate farmers to literate and society drivers (leaders), teachers, lecturer, students and so forth. Our most of time was consumed by people to pacify their emotional queries and curiosities over snake and snakebite issues. So, it would be invaluable tools to deal the people easy and quick through these booklets and posters. Moreover, these will be cleansing the turbid and traditional social concept over snake and snakebite management.

Hence, cost for talk program at schools may have surcharged the grants. We think you will evaluate the case positively and being pragmatic that we have realized in previous task.

This project will be accomplished in proposed or allocated time. We have prepared manuscript for booklet and have taken photos of snakes needed to paste on poster. So we are almost ready to undergo work with press and publish the material (booklets and posters). According to Project supervisor, the proposal for evaluation of previous 15 days training has been approved to lead it at June 2008. So, we could distribute it to target group in Madi area - the most rural place in Chitwan concurrently. So, we will save the cost for distribution. The grant affixed for evaluation will cover the cost for distribution if we be able to coincide the two events.
